All in all, it's going pretty damned well with Metallikoor. The sound is developing, the vocal skills are improving and there is an undeniable energy in the group that is downright contagious. But as we all know, having fun in a rehearsal room is not really what it's all about; so yesterday we set about creating a 'performance' to match that big sound.
For me personally, this is a challenge. How do you get 18 burly guys to move in a cohesive, spontaneous way without looking like they have been entered into a dance contest? After a small amount of steering from me, the guys came up with their own ideas and adapted my idea...

The first thing I have learned from working with Metallikoor is that the guys are super-motivated and up for anything. They have been singing together for just eight weeks but they are gearing up for their first performance in a couple of weeks time already.
When I asked the chaps if they wanted to perform (together with the Rock Chix from Pocket Rock!t) at the busy Dickens Festival in Drunen. there was no moment of doubt, no inkling of hesitiation, just a resounding HELL YEAH!

Newsflash! Het totaal nieuwe en spannende mannenkoor Metallikoor heeft een nieuwe startdatum: 5 oktober 2016.
Door een blessure is onze dynamische dirigente niet in staat dit project eerder te starten dan oktober. We vragen dus om een beetje geduld.

Wanneer we optreden met Pocket Rock!t is er altijd wel een jaloerse man die lid wil worden van het koor. Omdat Pocket Rock!t een all-female koor is, staat iets kleins dit in de weg!De stem. Natuurlijk.Om mij heen kijkend zie ik dat veel koren het moeilijk vinden om genoeg mannen te krijgen, terwijl er veel goede mannelijke stemmen rondlopen.
